HARRELLSVILLE – Donald William Morgan, 93, formerly of Harrellsville, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in Creekside Care & Rehabilitation Center, Ahoskie.
Mr. Morgan was born in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania on November 15, 1921. A retired grocer, he had worked as a butcher with both Be-Lo and A & P Supermarkets. A member of Immanuel Baptist Church, he was a Navy veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mae Williams Morgan; his son, Donnie Morgan; step-daughters, Charlotte Coon and Gloria Dunlow; and his long-time companion, Dorothy Eure.
Among his survivors is a daughter, Jo Anne Morgan of Williamston; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and other extended family members.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, and will be officiated by the Rev. Ashby Browder. The family will assemble at Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, at 1:00 p.m. in preparation of services.
