AULANDER – Sidney William Jones, age 73, of Aulander, passed away on October 29, 2014 at the Inpatient Hospice Center in Greenville, NC.

He was born on April 19, 1941 to Sidney “Aris” and Emma Farmer Jones in Aulander, NC. Sidney was a member of Millennium Pentecostal Holiness Church, serving as a Deacon for many years and was a church Trustee. He was a founder of Millennium Volunteer Fire Department. Sidney was a self-employed brick mason. He was a very loving father, grandfather, and brother.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Farmer Jones; father, Sidney “Aris” Elwood Jones; son, Jonathan David Jones; and sisters, Violet Jones Cooke and Ernestine “Tine” Eunice Jones.

Left to cherish Sidney’s memory are his wife Rhonda; son, William Michael Jones and wife Renee; daughter, Sarah Lynne Vaughan and husband Michael; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Renee Jones, Kaylee Grace Jones, Allyson Paige Vaughan, William Edward Jones, Devan Scott Brown, and newly arriving Ayden Michael Vaughan; and brother, Oscar Jones and wife Linda, all of Aulander.

Funeral services were held on Friday, October 31, 2014, at the Millennium Pentecostal Holiness Church, Aulander, NC, with the Rev. Taylor Latham officiating, and burial followed at Job Cemetery.
