WILLIAMSTON – Edward Leroy Leggett, 74, of 3107 Ballard Road, Williamston, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at his home. He was born October 28, 1940 to the late Rosa Edmondson and Andy Poe Leggett, Sr. and was predeceased by his wife Betty Brinkley Leggett.

Leroy was a member of Cedar Grove Free Will Baptist Church which he loved.  He was also a member of Buzzard’s Roost Gun Club and loved spending time with his family.  He retired from White’s Sheet Metal as a supervisor.

Funeral services will be held Friday October 31, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Cedar Grove Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. Ben Bunch. Burial will follow in Spring Green Cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter, Jodie Leggett Edmondson and husband Doug of Williamston; step-sons, Timmy, Jerry, Ledie, Randy and Steve Stroud of Ahoskie; sister, Janie Lee and husband Frankie of Merry Hill; brothers, Andy Leggett and wife Vicki, and Gene Leggett and wife Jean, all of Williamston, and Billy Leggett and wife Billie of Portland, Or; and grandchildren, Kristin Roberson and Coleman Edmondson both of Williamston.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Williamston. Memorial gifts may be made to Cedar Grove Free Will Baptist Church, Spring Green Road, Williamston, NC 27892 or to Spring Green Cemetery, c/o Buck Davis 15698 NC 125, Oak City, NC 27857.
