MURFREESBORO – Barbara Dove Gosnell, 86, died October 21, 2014 at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Dr. John Wesley Gosnell and brother, Dr. Frederick D. Dove, Jr.

A native of Bridgewater, Virginia, she was a lifetime member of Church of the Brethern and was a graduate of Bridgewater College with a degree in music, later, continuing her education with a Business degree. She was an accomplished musician displaying her talents as an organist and pianist at various churches and musical productions. She also loved to cook and enjoyed sharing her talents with her grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda G. Bunch of Edenton, and Pamela F. Brett and husband, Stan of Conway; five grandchildren, Melanie Cox, Zach Renner (Megan), Jenilee Catri (Anthony), and Cory and Logan Brett; and one great grandchild, Abrahm Renner.

A funeral service for Mrs. Gosnell will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2014 in Conway Baptist Church with interment following at Riverside Cemetery in Murfreesboro. Rev. Willie McLawhorn and Rev. Tom Caulkins will be presiding.
