AULANDER – Shelby Jean Outlaw Terry, age 77 of Aulander, NC, passed away on October 11, 2014 at the Ahoskie House in Ahoskie, NC.
Shelby was born on November 16, 1936 in Hertford County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Vera Rayford Outlaw and Willie Leon Outlaw. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Robinson; and one brother-in-law, Paul “Boogie” Robinson. She was a very devoted volunteer and charter member of the Millennium Civic Club.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Mark “Tomcat” Terry of Aulander, NC; her son, Steve Terry and wife Jennifer of Kelford, NC; her three grandchildren, Martin Terry of Winton, NC, Aaron Clark of Kelford, NC and Nathan Clark of Conway, NC; her two nephews, Richard “Dickie” Robinson and his wife Gloria of Lewiston, NC and Ronnie Robinson of Arizona; and also many loving family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Millennium Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Taylor Latham officiating. Burial will follow in Job Cemetery in Aulander, NC.
The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, NC on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Millennium Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 940, Aulander, NC 27805.
