AHOSKIE – April Vick Harrell, age 33 of Ahoskie, died on Monday, September 29, 2014 as a result of an automotive accident.

April was a native of Hertford County born on April 21, 1981 to Phillip and Brenda Vick of Ahoskie, NC. She graduated from Hertford County High School and attended Roanoke-Chowan Community College, receiving her EMT certification. April was married to Brian Harrell on April 7, 2001 and to this marriage was born three children. April had a great passion for life and sadly departed us much too soon.  She was a very giving and caring individual that will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Phillip Vick; maternal grandfather, Elwood Shores; maternal step-grandfather, Henry Clay Hurdle; and paternal grandfather, Rev. Wiley Vick.

April is survived by her husband Brian David Harrell; two daughters, Alyssa Briane Harrell and Jennifer Lynn Harrell;  and her son, Tristan Blake Harrell, all of Ahoskie, NC; mother, Brenda Evans of Ahoskie, NC; brother, Phillip Daniel Vick of Ahoskie, NC; maternal grandmother, Pauline Hurdle of Aulander, NC; paternal grandmother, Lillie Vick of Falkland, NC; stepmother, Michelle Vick of Jamesville, NC; three step brothers, Brian Barr of Norfolk, VA, and Dustin Barr and Justin Barr both of Jamesville, NC; mother-in-law, Angela Ward Harrell and father-in-law, Orrin Chester Harrell of Ahoskie, NC; and brother-in-law, Douglas Edward Harrell and his wife Sheryl of Eure, NC.

Memorial services were held on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Chapel of Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie, NC.
