SEABOARD – Mr. Junius C. Edwards, age 82 of Galatia Road, Seaboard, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

Mr. Edwards was born August 31, 1932 in Northampton County, NC, the son of the late Willie James Edwards Sr. and Lottie Boone Edwards.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, W.J. Edwards Jr. and a step daughter, Rhonda Meeks Peace.

He was a lifelong member of Galatia Baptist Church. He enjoyed his vegetable garden and really enjoyed sharing his vegetables with neighbors and friends.

He is survived by his wife, June Harrell Edwards; his daughter, Melissa Edwards Barnes and her husband Glen; a step daughter, Carol M. Davis and her fiancé Chuck Buffaloe; his brother, Rodney Edwards; his sister, Betty Lee Watts; his step granddaughter, Adrienne Pittman; and two step great grandchildren, Jordan and Draven Pittman.

A graveside service was held Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Conway Cemetery in Conway, NC with the Rev. David Foster officiating.
