AHOSKIE – Myrtle Walliser Wauters, 92, died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Ahoskie House.
A native of Jersey City, New Jersey, she had been preceded in death by her parents, Mary Frances Hoger and George Walliser; sister, Josephine Weiss; granddaughter, Teresa Marie Thomas; and special niece, Lois Weiss.
A longtime resident of Pine Tops Road, she had worked as a Bank Teller with 1st National in Thomas River, New Jersey and established and was actively involved in the Holbrook Little League Team in Jackson, New Jersey. She loved to quilt and after moving to Hertford County she was actively involved in the Roanoke Chowan Quilters Group for over 20 years.
Survivors include daughter, Mary Mae Francis Hoger and partner, Larry Francis; son, Richard Waters, Jr. (Sandra) of Monroe, NC; four grandchildren, Christina Jaimes (Alfredo), Joseph Dellapena (Jannine) of Waxhaw, NC, Wesley Francis of Murfreesboro, and Christopher Francis (Gay Sumner) of Como; six great grandchildren; and a special niece, Claire Geyer of Lanoka Harbor, NJ.
The family will be receiving friends at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway, NC from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. July 29 and her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, 25280 New Market Road, Courtland, VA with burial following in Riverside Cemetery, Murfreesboro.
