ROANOKE RAPIDS – Mr. William E. “Butch” Parker, age 63 of Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

Mr. Parker was born November 8, 1950 in Ahoskie, NC, the son of the late Grover C. Parker and Ruth Bracy Parker.

He worked for the NC Department of Juvenile Justice for 30 years. He was head of this department for the counties of Halifax, Northampton, Hertford and Gates. He was a member of First Christian Church in Roanoke Rapids.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Warren Parker; his sister, Bobbie P. Armstrong and her husband Donald of Ahoskie; and one very special niece, Meredith Leigh Armstrong.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery with Minister Bane Angles officiating.

The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Jackson on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.
