JACKSON – Mr. William Otis “Bill” Wheeler, age 54 of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014.

Bill was born November 22, 1959 in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Bill spent his entire life as a law enforcement officer. He was a graduate of Northampton County High School-East, and a graduate of the Justice Academy where he received a teaching certificate in law enforcement.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Warren Wheeler of Roanoke Rapids; his sons, Chad Wheeler of Conway, and Hunter and Gabriel Wheeler of Roanoke Rapids; his parents, Otis and Charlotte Smith Wheeler of Jackson; his sisters, Angie Wheeler of Jackson and Nettie W. Edwards of Roanoke Rapids; four nephews, Trevor and Colby Edwards, and Jesse and Matthew Warren; and one niece, Sarah Warren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson with Dr. Julian Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Jackson, on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.
