Ervin C. Hedgepeth

RODUCO – Ervin Curtis Hedgepeth, 67, of 309 Tuggie Eure Road, Eure, died Saturday, May 10, 2014 as the result of a boating accident on the Chowan River.
Mr. Hedgepeth was born in Gates County on November 6, 1946 and was the son of the late Charlie S. and Daisy Lee Whitley Hedgepeth. Retiring in 2010 from the NC Dept. of Transportation in highway maintenance, he was a member of Eure Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Florence, Betty, and Carolyn.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 36 years, Barbara Blanchard Hedgepeth; a daughter, Joanne Hedgepeth of Roduco; three sisters, Elsie Womble of Franklin, VA, Dianne Hoggard of Conway, and Sandra Kay Lowder of Savannah, GA; three brothers, Bill Hedgepeth of Tyner, Chris Hedgepeth of Columbus, OH, and Calvin Hedgepeth of Ahoskie; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Eure Christian Church by the Rev. Michael Brinkley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
