AULANDER – Mary Alice Skinner, age 69, of Aulander passed away on May 2, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.

A native of Bertie County, she was born on March 21, 1945 to the late Ray Morgan and Helen Ward Jenkins. Alice was known as a simple Christian woman that loved to cook. She had a passion for spending time with her grandchildren, cherishing every moment. Alice was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Clint Boseman.

Left to cherish Alice’s memory are her husband, Jerry Skinner of the home; a daughter, Judy Matthews Boseman and husband, David Wayne, of Macclesfield; a son, Jeff Matthews and wife, Heather, of Ahoskie; and five grandchildren, Daniel and Kayla Boseman of Macclesfield, and Katie, Shelby, and Madison Matthews of Ahoskie.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service Chapel, Ahoskie, with the Rev. Joe Lassiter officiating. Interment will follow at Aulander Cemetery.
