Theodore Morris

BURLINGTON – Theodore (Ted) “Bug” Morris, 79, went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Alamance Regional Medical Center, Burlington, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, Roland Morris; his mother, Maggie White Morris; his sister, Edna Ruth Morris; and his son, Keith Morris.

Ted spent his youth in Aulander, NC and graduated in the high school class of 1952. He enjoyed a twenty year military career serving aboard several ships and at various military installations in the U.S., retiring at Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, FL in 1975. He also worked at Crown Ford, Fred Davis Buick/Pontiac and Naval Air Rework Facility at NAS Jacksonville where he retired. He lived in Green Cove Springs, FL until 2006 before relocating to Burlington, NC, where he was a member of Burlington Assembly of God.

Ted is survived by his wife, Dana of the home; one sister, Julia Gietz of Doctors Inlet, FL; sons, Kevin of Virginia Beach, VA, Kelly (Lori) of Grantville, PA, and William Thomas (Stacy) of Lawrenceville, GA; and daughter-in-love, Ann Morris of Lancaster, PA. Ted is also survived by seventeen grandchildren: Joshua of Bayonet Point, FL, Sarah Curtwright (Clinton) of San Diego, CA, Bethany, Zachary (Michelle), Rachel, and Hannah of Chesapeake, VA, Jeremy and Timothy of Richmond, VA; Thomas, David and Robert of Grantville, PA, Jordy Fuchs of Washington, DC, Jordan of Murfreesboro, TN, and Olivia, Cassidy, Noah, and Abby Thomas of Lawrenceville, GA.

He was well-loved by his family including many cousins, nieces, nephews, their children, and a host of church family in both Florida and North Carolina who loved him and enjoyed his humor and wit.

Funeral services officiated by Pastors Bryan Rainbow and Howard Thompson were held at Burlington Assembly of God, 821 Tucker Street, Burlington, NC, on Monday, April 21. The family received friends after the service and other times at the home on 1246 Westview Terrace, Burlington.

Graveside services will be on Wednesday, April 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Aulander Cemetery, Aulander, NC.

Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory of Burlington is in charge of both services. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to The Caring Kitchen of Burlington Assembly of God, a feeding ministry for those in need.
