Frances L. Rimmer

WOODLAND – Frances Virginia Lee Rimmer, age 94, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Rich Square Health Care Center in Rich Square.

Mrs. Rimmer was born in Woodland, Northampton County, NC, on October 1, 1919, a daughter of the late Blanche Whitley and John William Lee.  In 1936, Frances moved to Greensboro, NC, where she met and married Jack L. Rimmer in 1940.  They lived in Greensboro, where she worked as a hairdresser for some forty-nine years, until her retirement.  After the death of her husband in 1974, Mrs. Rimmer moved back to Woodland in 1985.  She became a faithful member and attendee of the church she loved, Woodland Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her brother, James Lee of Woodland; and  nieces and nephews, Charles Whitley (Susan), of Rich Square, JoAnn Ralston (Harold) of Staunton, VA, Pat Croxton (Robert) of Dunwoody, GA, Albert Whitley (Carolyn) of Mechanicsville, VA, Sarah Lee Mathias of Lexington, SC, Hilda Liverman Bryant of Williamston, Pat Liverman of Woodland, Ellen Parker (Elwood) of Greensboro, Carol Hall (Donnie) of Cary, and John Lee of Roxboro.

Besides her parents and husband, Frances was predeceased by her sisters, Elsie Whitley and Sarah Liverman; her brothers, Edward Lee and Meredith Lee; and her nephews, John H. Liverman, Jr. and Bill Lee.

A celebration of life service was conducted on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Woodland Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. J. Brabban officiating.  Burial followed in the Woodland Cemetery.
