Marjorie E. Tayloe

AULANDER – Marjorie Early Tayloe, 79, of 930 Hexlena Road, Aulander, died Monday, December 16, 2013 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

Mrs. Tayloe was born in Bertie County and was the daughter of the late Andrew James and Ganell Rayner Early.  A homemaker, she also was the co-owner of Fred C. Tayloe Bulldozing and of Tayloe Farms.

A faithful member of Connaritsa Baptist Church, she was active in its Sunday School, the W.M.U. Family Missions, and Adult Choir; and had formerly served as the Registrar of Mitchells I Precinct in Bertie County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Ella Jean White and Betty Jane Lewis, and by her brother, William Robert Early.

Surviving are her husband of over 61 years, Fred Clinton Tayloe; three sons, Freddie A. “Doodle Bug” Tayloe and wife, Ann, of Aulander, Herbie C. Tayloe and wife, Alice, of Ahoskie, and John M. Tayloe of Aulander; two sisters, Winifred Mansfield of Virginia Beach, VA and Mae White of Aulander; two brothers, James Early, Sr. of Windsor, VA and Joe Early of Aulander; four grandchildren, Wendy T. Fox and husband Keith of Louisville, KY, Lauren E. Tayloe of Leland, Jacob R. Tayloe and wife Tori of Ahoskie, and Randy Tayloe and wife Dee of Youngstown, OH; three great-grandchildren, Jessica Tayloe of Willow Springs, and Kaelynn and Kaleb Fox, both of Louisville; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19 at 11:00 a.m. in Connaritsa Baptist Church by The Rev. Jimmy Smith, The Rev. Keith Moore, and The Rev. Jacob R. Tayloe.  Burial will follow in the Ahoskie Cemetery, with Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, handling arrangements.

Friends may join the family at the home of her son, John M. Tayloe, 1426 Early Station Road, Aulander.
