Virginia P. Joyner

WINDSOR – Virginia Pierce Joyner, 72, a resident of the Brian Center and formerly of River Street, Colerain, died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center.

She was born in Bertie County on September 29, 1941 to the late Hezzie and Emma White Pierce and was predeceased by twin daughters, Sharon and Karen Joyner and brothers, Alton and Leroy Pierce.

A memorial service was held Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Tim Parker.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol J. Parker and husband, Tim, of Windsor; a son, Donald Joyner and wife, Melanie, of Windsor; brothers, Darnell Pierce of Richmond, VA, and Fleetwood Pierce of Colerain; grandchildren, Christin, Ashlyn and Donald Joyner, Heather Hughes, and Mika Rogerson; and great grandchildren, Parker Rogerson and Emery Hughes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Ebenezer Assembly of God, 809 Hwy 305, Aulander, NC27805.
