Reba P. Charles

KINSTON – Reba Peele Charles, 99, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013. She will be remembered as a loving, caring person who will be dearly missed.

She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and organist for many years. In December, 2005, she left the Union Community of Hertford County to live with her daughter in Kinston.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane; son-in-law, Joe Whaley; granddaughter, Jami; and great-granddaughter, Lynn, whom she adored; sisters, Irma Dunn of Greenville, and Ivor Deane Harmon of Goldsboro; and sister-in-law, Mildred Peele of Ahoskie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Eula Peele; husband, Hubert; and brothers, Linwood and Lockwood Peele.

A private burial will be held at the Ahoskie Cemetery on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, followed by a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Dickerson officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.
