Marian E. Bracy

AHOSKIE – Marian Eure Bracy, age 84 of Ahoskie, passed away Saturday October 5, 2013 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.

Marian was born November 6, 1928 in Hertford County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Judson Eure and Nettie Stallings Eure. She was also predeceased in death by a baby girl; her brother, T.R. Eure; and her husband, John Rensell Bracy, Sr.

She was retired from Carolina Telephone Company. Marian was a charter member of Creech Memorial Baptist Church, she also served as a Deaconess, Sunday School Teacher and in the “Women On Mission” group. Mrs. Bracy was rewarded by the Hertford County Office of Aging as a volunteer “Seniors Helping Seniors.”

Survivors include a daughter, Gail Bracy Ingram of Woodland; her son, John Bracy Jr. and wife, Angela, of Ahoskie; three grandchildren, William Bracy Ingram, Daniella Bracy Brinson and Abissai Alonzo; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, N.J. Eure and wife, Margaret, of Chesapeake, VA, Judson Eure of Tunis, and Curtis Eure and wife, Betty Lou, of Harrellsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Creech Memorial Baptist Church in Ahoskie with the Rev. David Duncan and the Rev. Tom Ravan officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Cofield.

The family will receive friends at Creech Memorial Baptist Church Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Creech Memorial Baptist Church in Ahoskie, NC or Holly Springs Baptist Church in Cofield, NC.
