AHOSKIE – John Paul Perry, 63, of NC 561 East, Ahoskie, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill.

Mr. Perry was born in Covington, TN, and was the son of the late Thomas James and Offalee Perry.  Retired after more than 20 years in the US Navy, he was saw service in both Vietnam and the Gulf Wars, and was presently employed as a shipping clerk with North State in Ahoskie.  He was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Joyce Perry, and her children, Kimberly Hardee of Greenville and Mark Perry of Gates; two sisters, Norma Jean Cooper and Delia Atkinson; two brothers, James and William Perry; and four grandchildren, Aaron, Matthew, Kayla, and Ciera.

A memorial service was held Saturday, July 20, in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, by the Rev. Roger Kiker. Friends may join the family at the residence.
