A North Carolina man found murdered on Tuesday in Isle of Wight County had been living with his grandparents in Murfreesboro, according to information from the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office.

Torrey Lamont Anderson, 21, of Raleigh died from a gunshot wound, according to the medical examiner. His body was set on fire near Nike Park Road in Carrollton and found near a car that had been burned, said Capt. Rick Gaddis.

Officials have no suspects or a motive for the murder, Gaddis said.

Anderson had been commuting to Isle of Wight while employed by a subcontractor at Smithfield Foods.

Investigators identified Anderson after finding his fingerprint; he had been jailed twice since June 2011 for firearms possession, felony breaking and entering, and larceny.
