CHARLOTTE – The Chowan University men’s basketball team travels to the Queen City on Thursday to take on the Johnson C. Smith University Golden Bulls.
The CIAA crossover match-up is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
The Hawks enter the contest with a 5-6 overall record and 0-3 mark in league play after dropping three straight games in CIAA action. Chowan had three or more players score double digit points in losses to Fayetteville State, Shaw, and Saint Augustine’s but were unable to come up with the wins.
Alray Blackmon and Quinton McDuffie led the Hawks in their last outing against Saint Augustine’s. Blackmon and McDuffie dropped 13 points apiece in the 64-54 loss. Kyree Bethel and Kortez Smith also chipped in 10 points each for the Hawks.
The Golden Bulls enter the game with an 8-5 record overall and are 1-2 in CIAA play. Johnson C. Smith put on an offensive show shooting 49% from the floor on Wednesday against Virginia Union in an 85-52 victory over the Panthers. Senior guard Trevin Parks finished with a game high 23 points and is currently second in NCAA DII for scoring.
