Northeast moves to 2-0

Northeast Academy earned varsity tennis win number two last week.
The Lady Eagles blanked Crossroads by a final of 9-0 days after topping Northampton County High School 7-2.
Against Crossroads, top-seeded Ivey Little scored a perfect victory for Northeast, capturing an 8-0 win. Second-seeded Caitlin Foster was almost as good as she earned an 8-1 victory.
Mollie Cocke (at number three) and Robyne Barnes (number four) also secured 8-0 victories during the matchup.
Fifth-seeded Kelse Polson scored an 8-2 win in singles while Lauren Flythe rounded out the singles sweep with an 8-2 win.
In doubles, Little and Foster claimed an easy 8-0 win at number one. Cocke and Barnes then won the battle of second-seeded teams with an 8-1 victory.
Tracy Clark and Flythe closed out the sweep with an 8-1 win in number three doubles.
The win boosted the Lady Eagles to 2-0 for the year headed into today’s (Tuesday) match at Gates County High School.
