POTECASI – Mrs. Elsie Vaughan Babb, age 85 of Hwy 35, Woodland, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Northampton Nursing and Rehab in Jackson.

Mrs. Babb was born August 6, 1927 in Hertford County, the daughter of the late Grady Vaughan and Katie Sue Whitley Vaughan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Babb. She was a member of Potecasi Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Dennis Babb and his wife, Janice, of Potecasi, John Conrad Babb and his wife, Debby, of Conway, R.A. “Tony” Babb of Potecasi, and Lori Tyler and her husband, Jeff, of Moyock; her brother, Gene Vaughan and his wife, Dotty, of Suffolk, VA; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A private service will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012.

Memorial contributions may be made to Potecasi Baptist Church.

Massey Funeral Home in Jackson assisted the family.
