ROCKY MOUNT – Howard Kent Hoggard, 57, passed away Thursday July 12, 2012. He was born February 23, 1955 in Richmond County to the late Barry and Marie Hoggard.

Kent was a positive man who never complained and also put the needs of others ahead of his own. He loved fishing, watching NASCAR and playing golf. His favorite joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory, special life partner, Kathy Gillespie of Rocky Mount; one son, Landon Hoggard and wife, Shannon, of Nashville; one daughter, Amy Ormond and husband, Greg, of Spring Hope; one brother, Steve Hoggard and wife, Susan, of Ahoskie; five grandchildren, Haley Ormond, Kaitlynn Ormond, Taylor Hoggard, Trey Ormond and Lindsay Hoggard; and nieces and nephews, Sara Hoggard Ganus of Laurinburg, and Stephen and Shelby Hoggard of Ahoskie.

Memorial services were held on Sunday July 15, 2012 in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home,1052 South First Street, Nashville.
