AHOSKIE –   Linwood Lee Rawls, age 80, of Pine Ridge Road, Ahoskie, died Monday, June 25, 2012.

A native of Bertie County, Mr. Rawls was born on November 7, 1931, a son of the late Annie Hoggard Rawls and Robert Earl Rawls.  He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Ahoskie where he served as an alternate Sunday School teacher.  He was also a member and past president of the Davie Masonic Lodge #39.  Linwood had retired as owner and business partner in his surveying business.

Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Debbie Rawls Ross and husband, Scott, of Wake Forest; a son, Linwood Lee Rawls, Jr. of Norfolk, VA; and two grandsons, Justin and Cameron Ross.  He was predeceased by his wife, Lousie Wiggins Rawls.

The family will receive friends at the home on Wednesday, June 27, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.   A celebration of life memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Ahoskie.  Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC  29605.
