PORTSMOUTH – Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Darden, age 88, passed away at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital on May 26, 2012.

She was a member of West Haven Baptist Church, where she also was a part of the Miriam Bible Class. Mrs. Darden retired after spending over 50 years as a Trust Officer with Crestar Bank. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority X1Master. An avid reader, Mrs. Darden also loved to travel and sightsee.

Preceding her in death was her husband, James G. Darden; and her parents, Irma Griffin Taylor and Harvey J. Liverman

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Lil Beale, and her nephew, Mason K. Beale.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Olive Branch Cemetery, 2 Cpl. JM Williams Ave. Portsmouth, VA. 23701, officiated by Pastor Tom Wood.
