AHOSKIE – Margaret Willoughby Young, age 83, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.

She was born in Hertford County on February 5, 1929 to the late Walter Raleigh Willoughby and Cilla Hughson Willoughby.  She was the widow of Franklin Donald Young.

Mrs. Young was a retired bookkeeper for Donald’s Shell and legal secretary for Carter Jones, attorney.  She was a member of Brantleys Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Young of Ahoskie, and Laurie Leary and husband, Jeff, of Tarboro; a son, Michael Young and wife, Holley, of Colerain; and grandchildren, Amanda Elizabeth Creviston, Bryan Patrick Creviston, Lauralee Margaret Leary, Jilianne Grace Leary, Bryan David Drew, and Brittany Jane Drew.  She was predeceased by her brothers, Clarence, Archie, Cecil and Milton Willougby.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie with the Rev. J.N. Baggett officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday night from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home.
