AULANDER — Mr. Frederick Carl Andreson, 74, of Aulander, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

Mr. Andreson was a retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer First Class that proudly served 23 years, which included the Vietnam War and the Cuban Blockade. He retired from Norfolk Naval Yard. He also served as the former Commander of the Aulander VFW Post and was an avid collector of antique tractors and gas engines.

He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Julia Pillsbury Andreson and his son Jimmy Andreson.

Surviving are his wife of forty-nine years, Barbara Lassiter Andreson; his sons Matt and Daniel Andreson of Aulander; his sisters Julie Piechowski of Fairmount, ND, and Louisa Keller of Paynesville, MN; his brother, Robert Andreson of Roseholt, SD and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Massey Funeral Home Chapel, Aulander, with the Rev. Taylor Lathan officiating. Interment followed at Job Cemetery, Aulander.
