AHOSKIE – Hattie Anne Hill, age 77, died Friday, April 13, 2012 at Roanoke River Nursing andRehabilitationCenterin Williamston.

Miss Hill was born inHertfordCountyon May 18, 1934, the daughter of the late Samuel Troy and Irene Parker Hill.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ahoskie where she had served as deacon, was in the adult choir, the hand bell choir, served on the finance committee, and served as church treasurer for many years.  Besides singing and hand bells, Anne also enjoyed playing the piano, the trombone, the autoharp, and the melodica. She was a graduate ofAhoskieHigh Schooland UNC-Greensboro and had retired as an accountant atRoanoke-ChowanHospitalafter many years of service.

Anne is survived by several cousins and a dear friend, Sally Ann Barber.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home, Ahoskie, with the Rev.
