ELIZABETH CITY – Bertie High School claimed a key Northeastern Coastal Conference victory last week.
The Falcons topped Northeastern High School 2-0 Thursday to secure that conference win.
The scores came from a run that was walked in and an RBI from Kelsea White.
Senior Falcon hurler Caroline White scattered three hits and struck out 11 to claim the victory.
Bertie mentor Jackie Copeland said she was pleased with White’s pitching performance and the defense that backed her up.
“This was a huge win, but we told them we have to stay consistent and work hard,” Copeland said. “Hard work and dedication is the message that (Assistant) Coach Darren Cottle and I have been preaching.”
The Lady Falcons will be back in action today (Tuesday) when they host league rival Edenton at 4:30 p.m.
