George Truett Adams

COLERAIN – George Truett Adams 87, of 105 Cedar Street, Colerain, died Wednesday March 14, 2012 at his home.

He was born in Bertie County on May 4. 1924 to the late Solomon B. and Fannie H. White Adams and was predeceased by two daughters, Marsha Adams Campbell and Chelsea Adams.

Mr. Adams, a farmer, spent 45 years in Garden City, KS.  He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.  He was a pilot in the Air Force during WW II and flew B 24’s.

Memorial services were held Saturday March 17, 2012 at Riverside Baptist Church by the Rev. Gene Martin.  The family will receive friends at the home.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Splitter Adams of the home; sons, Rodney Adams of Colerain, Phillip Adams of Chandlar, AZ, and Tim Adams of Holcomb, KS; sisters, Margaret Parker of Newport News, VA, and Mirian Wise of Pittsford, NY; brothers, Frank Adams of Edenton, and Jack Adams of Colerain; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
