GATES – Lois S. Walton, 69, of Gates departed this earthly life on March 10, 2012 at her residence.

She was born on August 20, 1942 in Hertford County to the late Virgil and Marie Mitchell Sharpe.

She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.

Lois leaves to cherish precious memories:  her husband, Thomas Kenny Walton of Gates; one daughter, Nicole Janel Walton of Durham; one brother, Virgil Leon Sharpe of Elizabeth, NJ; one sister, Shirley Mae Morris of Raleigh; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Roosevelt Askew. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
