HARRELLSVILLE – Josephine Britt Dantz, age 86, of Taylor Street, Harrellsville, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mrs. Dantz was born in Hertford County on April 4, 1925, a daughter of the late Joe and Callie Britt.  She was a graduate of Campbell College and was retired as a computer technician with Midwest Rubber Company in Ohio.  She was a member of Harrellsville Baptist Church.

Josephine leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Robert Dantz of the home; a daughter, Linda Lipscomb and husband, Jimmy, of Appomattox, VA; a son, Michael Smith and wife, Debbie, of Barberton, OH; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Maki of Norton, OH; and stepsons, Gary Dantz and wife, Linda, of Canal Fulton, OH, Larry Dantz of Norton, OH, Timothy Dantz and wife, Kate, and Roger Dantz and wife, Terry, of Barberton, OH.  Also surviving are sister’s-in-law Ethelyn Britt of Harrellsville, Maxine Britt of Cofield; 24 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Besides her parents, Josephine was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Rockwell; her brothers, T. W. Britt and Bill Britt; her sister, Anne Britt Miller; and stepson, Rodney Dantz.

A celebration of life memorial service will be conducted at Harrellsville Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012 with the Rev. Mark Hall and the Rev. Hugh Mizelle officiating.  Internment will be in Harrellsville Cemetery.
