SAN DIEGO, Ca. – Robert “Glenn” Butler Jr. died on January 29, 2012 in San Diego of cancer-related complications. He was born July 2, 1946 in Norfolk, Virginia, the son of the late Robert Glenn Butler, Sr. and the late Ruth Clarine Butler.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Sigrid Pate, and her daughter, Nicola Pate-Allen of Springfield, VA, her husband, Ronald, and their children, Matthew, Marlena, and Christina.
Glenn grew up in Harrellsville, North Carolina. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a USAF medical lab technician in the late 1960s. His professional career was in bio-pharmaceutical supply sales.
As a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he was an enthusiastic “Tarheel” fan who rooted for his “Carolina Blue” first and always.
In 1984 Glenn settled in the San Diego area with his wife Sigrid, which served as his home until death. While Glenn’s family and friends are greatly saddened by his death, he will always be remembered in our hearts.
