Ida Warren Brett Brunell

MURFREESBORO – Ida Warren Brett Brunell, 91, died Monday, January 30, 2012 at Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin, VA after a brief illness.
She had been preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, George Warren Brunell; parents, Kenneth R. and Maggie Warren Brett; and numerous brothers and sisters.
A native of Mapleton in Hertford County, she lived all of her married life in Murfreesboro. She was a loving, caring homemaker and as a member of Meherrin Baptist Church she attended the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class and the Young At Heart Group. When in good health she helped with the Hospice Gown Making Project. She will be remembered as a gentle, quiet lady.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Brunell and wife, Barbara, of Cabot, AR and Roger Brunell and wife, Candace, of Conyers, GA; two daughters, Joan Hunter and husband, Steve, of Murfreesboro and Myrtle Blankenship of Chesapeake, VA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Morse of Winchester, VA.
The family will be receiving friends at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway from 7-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 and at other times at the family home.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2012 in Meherrin Baptist Church in Murfreesboro with the Rev. Josh Parsons presiding. Burial will follow in the Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery.
