William Carson “Red” Wheeler

WOODLAND – Mr. William Carson “Red” Wheeler, age 75, died at the Northampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jackson on Sunday, January 22, 2012.
Mr. Wheeler was born in Northampton County and made his home in Woodland. He was married to the late Mildred Williams Wheeler for fifty three years and to this marriage was born two children. Mr. Wheeler worked as a mechanic at Parker Manufacturing until retiring. He had a great passion for antiques, both collecting and restoring. Mr. Wheeler was an avid fan of NASCAR racing until his sickness.
Preceding him in death is his wife, Mildred Williams Wheeler; and his mother and father, Esther Collier Wheeler and James Wheeler.
Surviving is his daughter, Debbie W. Martin and her husband, Stewart, of Milwaukee; one son, William Darrell Wheeler and his wife, Karen, of Woodland; and one sister, Bonnie Spradlin and her husband, Tommy, of Milwaukee; four grandchildren, Christopher Martin, Tara Martin Cox, Stephanie Wheeler and Jeff Timberlake; and five great grandchildren, C.J., Edward and Tyler Martin, Violet Cox and David Pierce. Also surviving are a niece and nephew, Robin Cantrell and Richard Spradlin.
Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Woodland Cemetery in Woodland with the Rev. Lamar Wheeler officiating.
The family will visit with friends following the memorial service at the cemetery.
