COLERAIN – John Allen Jackson, Jr., age 84 of Colerain, died Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital .

He was born November 1, 1927 in Lynchburg, VA to the late John Allen Jackson, Sr. and Susie Inez Sheppard.

Mr. Jackson was a Corporal in the US Army, a member of Colerain Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion Post No. 284 and retired from Banner Electric of Virginia.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie.  Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 30, in Southlawn Memorial Park in Petersburg,VA.

Left to cherish his memory are his half-sisters, Mary Alice Jackson Harrell of Colerain and Eva Jackson Nobles of Raleigh; and his half-brother, Harley Jackson of Winterville, and their families.

The family will receive friends following the service Thursday at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie.
