MURFREESBORO – Douglas Earl Moore, age 69, passed away December 11, 2011 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.

Douglas was born on April 7, 1942 in Beaufort County, NC, the son of the late Earl Duffy Moore and Elsie Whitley Moore. He was also preceded in death by a sister Peggy Dare Moore.

Survivors include his sister, Myrtie Moore Britton of Aulander; his nephew, Timothy Earl Turner and wife, Sebrina, of Murfreesboro; his niece, Heidi Dare Jenkins and husband, David, of Murfreesboro; and his great-nephews, Timothy Earl Turner Jr., Travis Shane Turner, Trenton Heath Turner and Zachary Chase Jenkins, all of Murfreesboro.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery in Murfreesboro with the Rev. Hilton Farrow Moore officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of Myrtie Britton 925 NC 561 West, Aulander.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart and Diabetes Association.
