MURFREESBORO — Voters who are seeking more information about the candidates running for Murfreesboro Town Council may find it during an upcoming event.

On Friday, Whitley’s Bar-B-Que is hosting a “meet and greet” with candidates who are running for the governing board. The event will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the restaurant located on Hwy. 11 South.

The event promises “no political agenda” for the public planning to attend, rather an opportunity to meet those running for town council.

There are seven people vying for the five seats on the council, including incumbents Sarah Wallace, Gloria Odum and Bill Theodorakis. Former council member Bill Parker along with Randy Roberts, Hal Thomas and Craig Dennis have also thrown their hats into the ring as candidates.

All candidates have been invited to attend the “meet and greet”.

Murfreesboro’s municipal election is Tuesday, Nov. 8.
