Phyllis Story Early

AHOSKIE – Phyllis Story Early, age 86, of West Stokes Street, Ahoskie, died Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Guardian Care of Ahoskie.

Mrs. Early was born in Suffolk, VA on June 6, 1925, a daughter of the late Obie F. and Virginia Earehart Story.  She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Ahoskie and had retired as an EKG Technician from Roanoke Chowan Hospital.  She was the widow of Ray Harmon Early, Sr.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, William S. Early and wife, Laura, of Aulander; and her grandchildren, Ginger Early Taylor and Ray Harmon Early III, both of Kinston, Betty Early Adams of Ahoskie, and June M. Early and Gunter Early, both of Greenville. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Early was predeceased by a son, Ray Harmon Early, Jr.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Glaze officiating.  Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk, VA at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
