AHOSKIE – Johnnie Lou Castelloe Ward, age 93, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Guardian Care of Scotland Neck.

She was born in Hertford County on October 1, 1918.

Mrs. Ward graduated from Gilchrist School of Beauty and Culture and she taught art until her retirement.

She was a long time member of West Side Hill Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Luther H. Ward Jr. of Fort Meyers, FL, and Gary S. Ward of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ward was predeceased by a daughter, Cathy Ward of Virginia Beach, VA.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel in Virginia Beach, VA. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
