AHOSKIE – Ruby Lowe Lawter, 94, of Ahoskie, formerly of Mooresville, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at her residence.

She was born on March 10, 1917 in Wilkes County to the late William Cole and Geneva Price Lowe. She retired from Mooresville Mills and Burlington Industries with 47 years of service. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roscoe Lawter; grandson, Branden Russ; eight brothers and one sister.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara L. Warren and husband, Raymond “Chub”, of Ahoskie; granddaughter, Kimberly Warren Russ of Statesville; grandson, Cody Beasley of Greenville/Nags Head; step-daughter, Janice Lawter Owen of Balsam Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Childers and the Rev. Hal Greene officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Ahoskie, 521 West Myers Street, Ahoskie, NC 27910.
