Man stabbed with screwdriver

MARGARETTSVILLE — Two people have been arrested following what is being described as a family dispute that resulted in a man being stabbed with a screwdriver.
Cory Edwards, 24, and Whitney Edwards, 23, both of Margarettsville, are charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon with a minor present. The two suspects were placed in the Northampton County Jail on a $2,500 bond each. The case was continued on Thursday.
According to Northampton County Sheriff’s Detective Lt. Brenda Burnette, Sgt. Lynette Clements responded to a family dispute on August 28.
When officers arrived they found a man that had been stabbed in the head with a screwdriver.
Burnette said the injury was bad enough that the victim, apparently a family member of the two suspects, required surgery.
Burnette did not know the age of the minor that was present at the time of the altercation.
