COFIELD – Mrs. Diane C. Sutton of Cofield, NC was born September 19, 1952 to the late Daniel and Martha Copeland. She peacefully departed this life on September 11, 2011 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC.

Mrs. Sutton received her education from C.S. Brown High School. She was a member of Phillipi Baptist Church until her death.

She worked for Duck Thru Food Store for many years. She always greeted everyone with a smile and she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Charles B. Sutton Sr.  To their union five children were born: Funisha (Neicey) Lynch of Ahoskie, Monica (Monnie) Moore (William) of Aulander, Charles Sutton Jr. (Tammy), Crystal Nash (Milton), and William Sutton of Jacksonville, NC. Other survivors include a a step-daughter, Natalie Freeman of Powellsville; seven grandsons, Alex Beverly, De’Shawn Beverly, Trey-Von Combo, De’Quann Combo, Fabian Sutton, Justin Goodwin and Jeffrey Nash; nine granddaughters, Portia Combo, Tyneisha Combo, Janesha Lynch, Miracle Nash, Yasmine Nash, Radasia Sessoms, Aniyah Rankins and SaNiyah Sutton; and her sister’s children who she raised, Cadarius Sutton, Sherman Sutton, Dacia Sutton-Morales and Jacqueline Simmons.

Funeral services will be held on Monday September 19, 2011 at Phillipi Baptist Church, Cofield, NC. Rev. Stevie Lawrence will be officiating. Her interment will be in the Phillipi Baptist Church Cemetery, Cofield, NC.
