Cordy ‘Mack” Jordan Sr.

AHOSKIE – Mr. Cordy ‘Mack” Jordan Sr. of Ahoskie, NC was born April 19, 1942 to the late Cordy Jordan Sr. and Christine Jordan of Ahoskie.
He peacefully departed this life on September 8, 2011 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC.
Mr. Jordan received his education from C.S. Brown High School. He was an active member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church for many years.
Mack worked faithfully while employed at Odom Prison as a correctional officer and later became employed at Newport News Shipbuilding where he retired after 38 years of employment.
Mack was a member of Perfect Ashley Lodge # 326 of Winton, NC and White Lily Lodge #326 of Ahoskie, NC.
He was preceded in death by his wife the late Ernestine W. Jordan. To their union was born one daughter, Laura “Chris” Walker (Michael) of Ahoskie, NC; and a loving son, McCoy Jordan Jr. of Ahoskie, NC., Other survivors include a granddaughter, Janet Moorer of Ahoskie, NC; one grandson, Timothy McMahan (Ariel) and one great granddaughter, Ryanne McMahan, all of Corpus Christi, TX; one brother, Cordy Jordan Jr. of Ahoskie, NC; two sisters, Harriet Davis of Richmond, VA and Janet Poingette of Englewood, NJ; and two special cousins, Nora Gatling and Eva Mae Peele, both of the home.
Funeral services were held on Monday September 12, 2011 at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, Ahoskie, NC. Rev. W. R. Ashe officiated. His interment was in the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Ahoskie, NC.
Reynolds Funeral Home of Ahoskie handled the arrangements.
