Robert Dewey (“R.D.”) Belch Jr.

CONWAY – Robert Dewey (“R.D.”) Belch Jr., 80, an avid hunter, fisherman, and storyteller, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at his home in Conway.  He was a member of Conway Baptist Church, and retired as a Supervisor from Union Camp Corporation after 34 years of service.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Belch of Powaton, VA and Mike Belch and wife, Cindy, of Conway; two daughters, Judy B. Beasley and husband, Jerry, of Jackson and Winnie B. White and husband, Jentry, of Pendleton;  and a sister, Ethleen Reid of Elizabeth City.  He is also survived by six grandchildren, Brandon Belch, Courtney and Nicole Beasley, R. J. Jordan and Rachel White.

A Visitation will take place at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Rev. Willie McLawhorn will conduct services at Conway Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Burial will follow with Military Honors in the Town of Conway Cemetery.  Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway is handling the arrangements.
