COLERAIN – Severe weather that came through the Roanoke-Chowan region did not result in a tornado touchdown here.

Bertie County Interim Emergency Management Coordinator Misty Deanes said Wednesday there had been no reports of a tornado touchdown and no reports of damage.

A tornado warning was issued for part of Bertie and Hertford counties Monday afternoon when a line of severe thunderstorms ripped through the area.

Many in the region were concerned when the warnings were issued because of the damage inflicted by twin tornadoes on Askewville, Colerain, Harrellsville and their surrounding communities in April.
