MURFREESBORO – Ernest W. Lawrence, 64, a native of Hertford County, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.

Survivors include his wife, Eveline W. Lawrence of Murfreesboro; parents, Charlie and Honeywood Lawrence of Murfreesboro; three stepsons, Arthur Williams of Mississippi, Ronald Deloatch of New York and Dwayne Bishop of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Shielda Lawrence and Eugenia McLeody, both of Raleigh; two brothers, Phillip Lawrence and Henry Lawrence, both of Murfreesboro; and a sister, Carolyn Roberson of Richmond, VA.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Parkers Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Fernando E. Temple Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Gatling Family Cemetery.

Services of comfort are entrusted to Hertford County Undertakers in Winton.
