MURFREESBORO – The Chowan University Department of Athletics is set to host their annual Fall Sports Community Night on Thursday, August 18th.

The event, which has been an annual production since 2008, will feature all of Chowan’s fall sports teams including football, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, and women’s cross country.  The fun and free event will feature free mini-clinics and games by all of our fall sports teams as well as a chance for fans to meet and mingle with the coaches and players.

The athletic department will be serving dinner to all those in attendance. WDLZ’s Gattis Hodges will be conducting a live remote of his ESPN show, “Talkin’ Sports” on site. The event will run from 6:00pm-8:00pm and will be held on the upper athletic fields behind the Helms Center on Chowan’s campus. This event is free for the community and a great way to kick off the 2011 academic and athletic seasons at Chowan.
