COLERAIN – Over three months have passed since a pair of twisters tore a path of death and destruction through parts of Bertie and Hertford counties.

While the physical wounds left in the wake of that storm have or will eventually heal, the emotional scars may last a lifetime.

Those whose lives changed in the blink of an eye in the late afternoon/early evening hours of Saturday, April 16 will have an opportunity to heal those emotional scars thanks to a series of Recovery Group meetings that get underway in Colerain this week.

Sponsored by Roanoke-Chowan Community Health Center, the Recovery Groups meetings will be conducted from 5:30-6:30 p.m. each Wednesday from July 27 through Aug. 24. The group will meet at the Colerain Nutrition Site, located at Colerain Primary Care, 109 West River Street.

Anyone affected by the tornados of April 16 is welcomed. Sessions for children and adults will be led respectively by Evans Heath, LPA, and Mark Boyd, LCSW.
